Leave-in moisturizing & frizz-fighting treatment

3.3 oz / 100 ml

We knew this product was good when Dara almost couldn’t bear to part with our tester bottle. Its creator, stylist Garrett Markenson, dubbed it “Milk” because, as he puts it, “It’s such an essential product.” We wholeheartedly agree: rich in lightweight natural oils, this emulsion (lotion, in everyday terminology) moisturizes hair, fights frizz and static, shortens blow-drying time, and separates curls and waves — all without stickiness, greasiness, or excess weight. Celebrity hairstylist Sunnie Brook tells us it’s so moisturizing yet residue-free that she actually likes having a little extra left on her hands, because she can use that to moisturize dry hands and elbows.

And it’s no wonder: Garrett had the formula developed by a skincare chemist because he wanted it to be different, more effective, and less goopy than any hair product on the market. In our view, he hit all of those goals in spectacular fashion.

Not only that, but MILK has also helped Garrett achieve his original goal in starting the Reverie product line: to create jobs in California. The product is entirely formulated, produced, and packaged in California (with the exception of the Miron glass used for the bottle — which is made in Germany but purchased here).

MILK features a subtle, fresh, herbal scent with hints of vanilla, clove, and pepper.

Ingredients

Size N/A
Key Ingredients - Behentrimonium Methosulfate is an ingredient derived from rapeseed oil that very effectively conditions, fights static, and detangles hair (though it is frequently used in skincare products).
- Pracaxi oil softens hair and adds shine.
- Cetearyl alcohol is a "fatty alcohol" that conditions and softens hair. It's not like rubbing alcohol; it's actually good for your hair and skin. For a good explanation from IntoTheGloss, click here.
All Ingredients Water, Behentrimonium Methosulfate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Dicaprylyl Carbonate, Pentaclethra Macroloba (Pracaxi) Seed Oil, Hydrolyzed Sweet Almond Protein, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Nut Butter, Cetyl Esters, Olea Europaea (Olive) Leaf Extract, Laurus Nobilis (Bay Laurel) Leaf Oil, Vanilla Planifolia (Bourbon Vanilla) Bean Oil, Eugenia Caryophyllus (Clove) Bud Oil, Zingiber Officinale (Ginger) Root Oil,Citrus Bergamia (Bergamot) Peel Oil, Pogostemon Cablin (Patchouli) Leaf Oil, Piper Nigrum (Black Pepper) Fruit Oil, Santalum Spicatum (Sandalwood) Wood Oil, Rosa Damascena (Rose) Flower Oil, Vetiveria Zizanioides (Vetivert) Root Oil, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Oil, Lavandula Burmati (Lavandin) Flower/Leaf Oil, Foeniculum Vulgare Var. Dulce (Fennel) Seed Oil, Jasminum Sambac (Jasmine) Flower Oil, Mentha Spicata (Spearmint) Leaf Oil, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Extract, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Sodium Pca, Sodium Lactate, Arginine, Aspartic Acid, Pca, Glycine, Alanine, Serine, Valine, Proline, Theronine, Isoleucine, Histidine, Phenylalanine, Chitosan Succinamide, Yeast Extract, Dehydroacetic Acid, Benzyl Alcohol

How to Use

Pump out the appropriate amount given your hair length (see guidelines below), rub in palms, and apply to wet or dry hair by raking through or scrunching from top of ears down, then running your palms over the top of your head. As a general rule, twice as much should be used if you’re applying it to wet hair.

- Short hair (from pixie length to a bob ending around the lips) can use MILK as a leave-in conditioner after shampooing. Apply 2 pumps to wet hair, 1 pump to dry hair.
- Medium hair lengths can use about 4 pumps on wet hair, 2 pumps on dry hair as a styling/treatment product. Longer hair can use about 5 pumps on wet hair, 3 on dry hair.
- For curls and waves, scrunch in and let air-dry for moisture and separation. Works beautifully with Boucleme’s Curl Defining Gel (apply MILK first, followed by the gel) or Reverie RAKE (ditto).
