Ellis Brooklyn Rives is a true unisex scent created by Bee Shapiro, a beauty and style writer for The New York Times, Vogue, and others, and Jerome Epinette, the genius behind Byredo and other chic fragrances.

Its inspiration is the French Riviera of the 1920s: as Bee describes it, “Lazy days on the shore, evening writer salons, and fresh midnight breezes wafting through open windows. Neroli, petitgrain, and lavender form the Rives backbone, which lingers with an elegant base of cashmere woods and white suede for an incredibly clean, almost soapy finish. It’s for the anti-floral woman or man, but still preserves that freshness with a more complex finish. It’s my summer anthem!” Like all of Ellis Brooklyn’s fragrances, Rives is free of endocrine-disrupting phthalates and parabens.

As a side benefit, Rives will look gorgeous on your dresser. The phthalate-free fragrance, made in small batches in New York, is housed in an environmentally-friendly glass bottle from an Ecocert supplier; the biodegradable Bakelite compression cap is petrochemical-free.
