Description
The closest thing to an honest-to-goodness facial at home / Size: 8.45 oz
May Lindstrom The Problem Solver Warming Correcting Masque is one of the brand’s biggest stars, and for an all-star lineup, that’s saying something. We were a little scared to try it at first, perhaps because its name indicates that it’s serious business. But this massively detoxifying, breakout-busting, circulation-boosting mask is serious in all the good ways, and it has quickly become one of our favorite masks of all time.
The Problem Solver is a finely ground powder blend of clays, bamboo charcoal, and spices (along with a few other goodies, like skin-brightening Vitamin C) that turns into a foamy mousse when activated with water. Once you apply it to your skin, the spices kick stagnant complexions into action while the clay and charcoal pull out impurities. Rinse it off after 30-45 minutes of “I feel like something major is happening here, but I’m not sure what,” and you’ll see a surprisingly calm complexion that looks like it just had a facial: tightened pores and a fresh, luminous, almost airbrushed glow. It’s no wonder it’s a pre-Oscars secret for more than a few starlets.
Oddly, as serious as this mask is, it seems to suit even sensitive complexions thanks to the inclusion of angelica and marshmallow root; one of our rosacea-prone testers found that it calmed her skin and handily swept up the redness on her cheeks. And many people swear by it as a spot treatment for breakouts when mixed with The Blue Cocoon.
Whatever your skin type, use it as a mask once a week — mixed with plain water, The Jasmine Garden (for extra indulgence), or The Honey Mud (for extra calming and cushioning) — to purify and reset your skin. The massive jar lasts and lasts, too.
PS May Lindstrom happens to make a special brush to help whip this mask into the perfect foaminess. In our view, it's a must if you're a Problem Solver fan.
