Marie Veronique Colorfree Zinc is a product we’ve been waiting years for. YEARS. And we’re happy to tell you that it was well worth the wait. Here’s what we love:
1. It really does go on clear, amazingly. And yes, it’s non-nano!
2. It’s hydrating and moisturizing thanks to a blend of hyaluronic acid and lightweight oils, so it not only leaves skin with a flatteringly dewy finish but also doesn’t dry skin out over time, like many zinc-based sunscreens can.
3. It’s packed with ingredients to boost zinc’s sun-protective power: potent antioxidants like green tea and carnosine, soothing turmeric and ginger, and even spirulina to shield against blue light and help repair UV damage that can unfold after sun exposure, too.
4. The reef-safe formula is also water resistant up to 40 minutes, and it’s fragrance- and essential oil-free.
It may feel heavier than some other sunscreens when you first apply it to the skin, but you’ll then find that it feels lighter as you massage it in, then dries down with a beautiful dewy finish.
It works beautifully under makeup, too; one of its fans who prefers slightly less dewiness found that the magic combination is Colorfree Zinc first, followed by Colorescience Flex for a little coverage and a soft, radiant glow.

How to Use
Note on Opening: For best results, upon initial opening, hold the tube upright and use the back of the cap to puncture the seal. Holding the tube in an upright position helps regulate pressure to better control the amount of product dispersed.

Ingredients
- Turmeric & ginger — Both have potent antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and skin-brightening properties. They work to help calm redness and promote even skin tone so skin looks and feels radiant and soothed.
- Sodium hyaluronate — This powerful form of hyaluronic acid draws moisture into the skin, keeping it deeply hydrated and plump. Helps skin feel moisturized and comfortable all day, unlike many other mineral sunscreens that have a drying effect.
- Carnosine — A dipeptide with antioxidant properties that helps prevent photoaging, inflammation, and redness from free radicals and UVB rays.
- Spirulina maxima extract — This algae extract performs a dual function, acting as a free radical scavenger and shielding skin from the damaging effects of blue light. It also contains the potent enzyme photolyase, which helps repair UV damage through photoreactivation. This, in turn, helps prevent cellular damage.
