Description

A truly unique vanilla with top notes of citrus, freesia, & green tea / 1.7 oz

Ellis Brooklyn Sci Fi is an otherworldly vanilla scent created by Bee Shapiro, a beauty and style writer for The New York Times, Vogue, and others, and Jerome Epinette, the genius behind Byredo and other chic fragrances.

Sci Fi may be the coolest of all the Ellis Brooklyn scents. "Really?" you might be thinking. "Smelling like birthday cake is cool?" No, unless we all just jumped in a time machine that whisked us back to the middle/high school days. But smelling like Sci Fi — whose vanilla base is rendered ultra-sophisticated with top and middle notes of citrus, breezy florals, and green tea — is cool. Undeniably, emphatically so.

Its literary inspiration is the science fiction genre: as Bee describes it, it's familiar, yet attractively futuristic. It starts with fresh bergamot and bitter orange — citrusy, but in an aristocratic way — and then you'll notice the sheer floral and super-fresh green tea. When it dries down, you notice the creamy vanilla, that gives this wildly chic and intelligent scent just enough coziness to make it approachable. The overall effect is like that of the most sophisticated candy, but not in an overly sweet way.

Like all of Ellis Brooklyn’s fragrances, Sci Fi is free of endocrine-disrupting phthalates and parabens, and it will look gorgeous on your dresser. The phthalate-free fragrance, made in small batches in New York, is housed in an environmentally-friendly glass bottle from an Ecocert supplier; the biodegradable Bakelite compression cap is petrochemical-free.

If you're not sure which Ellis Brooklyn scent to try, check out their Chronicle set; it includes samples of all of them!
