Acre, Brazil / Designer Francisco Costa, the creator of Costa Brazil, returned to his native country to reset and relax after leaving his post at the helm of Calvin Klein. During his trip, he flew to an isolated region of Brazil and traveled over six hours by canoe to stay with the Yawanawá community, exploring the jungle and experiencing a whole new way of life. While there, he noticed villagers burning a fragrant resin — breu — extracted from a specific type of tree in the rainforest. It became the inspiration for this beautiful, thoughtful, sustainability-forward brand.
