Super Hold Styler has been described as a “super-hold styling custard,” and it’s as delicious as that sounds. This lightweight, creamy gel works on all hair types and curl patterns, from loose waves to tight coils. We also find it to be one of the easiest curl stylers to use. It’s moisturizing, but not too much that it adds weight. It provides super-strong hold, but it won’t cause stiffness, flaking, or dryness. And you may find that because it’s such a great all-around player for curls, it helps you avoid layering products — it can truly be a one and done styler. Applied to soaking wet hair, it dries with a cast that scrunches out effortlessly to reveal soft, shiny, bouncy curls.
To reshape and de-frizz curls between wash days, dispense a pea-sized amount on wet hands, graze hands over hair, and scrunch to encourage curls.
Like the rest of the Boucleme line, this product is free of sulfates, silicones, mineral oils, petroleum, parabens, propylene glycol, PEGs, phthalates, and artificial colors and fragrances.
How to Use
If using alone, remember that less is more. For waves, start with a nickel sized amount. Smooth down the length of the hair and scrunch up towards the scalp; hold, pulse, and release, working your way through the in-sections.
For curly and kinky curls, start with a quarter sized amount. Rake through hair in sections from root to tip, using fingertips to smooth as you go. Once hair is completely dry, tip head forward and scrunch out gel to release the cast.
To use with Curl Defining Gel: Apply Curl Defining Gel as usual. While hair is still wet, smooth 2-3 quarter sized amounts of Super Hold Styler over the canopy and scrunch into ends. Once hair is completely dry, tip head forward and scrunch out gel to release the cast.
