Makeup Lessons & Color Analysis at Ayla
Makeup lessons at our studio are the best way we can think of to choose products and shades with confidence — and to master the techniques you'll need to use them with ease. Our lead makeup pro, Melissa, has worked with us since 2015, and we couldn't love her more; she's now joined by Kelly, who offers express makeup lessons that are great before a night out.
Check out our menu of options below. Please note that when you schedule, all times listed are on Pacific Time.

Our longtime makeup artist, Melissa, delivers personalized coaching on an overall look, specific products and shades, and pro application techniques with expertise and a sense of humor that we adore. Everyone loves these lessons!
Bonus: as part of your lesson, Melissa will help you determine if you're warm or cool-toned (trickier than it may seem) and what color season you belong to — which will make both clothing and makeup shade choices a breeze.

About our makeup artists
Melissa McMillan has been helping our customers with makeup since our earliest days, and we still learn something new from her every time she visits. Years ago, she was a Glambassador at Benefit Cosmetics (a highest honor for their makeup and brow artists); after a decade as a tech executive, she's diving back into her passion for makeup. We are thrilled that Melissa brings her genuine love of makeup and her fun, engaging personality to our makeup bar.
Kelly Crispen first came to us through Costa Brazil, where she handled their boutique sales after many years in the beauty business: she managed a Chanel counter during college, and after working with Bobbi Brown and MAC, she had her own lipstick range for 8 years. We're delighted that she's brought her love of indie brands and her warm, gracious personality to Ayla.
