Biofficina Toscana’s Glycolic Shine Leave-In Serum is a unique pre-styling treatment that's designed to seal the hair fiber for a super-glossy, “glass hair” look while conditioning and strengthening hair underneath. Dara’s daughter was our main tester for this product, and it was obvious whenever she used it: it made her thick hair super-smooth, gorgeously glassy, and supremely easy to style. The formula’s primary objective is smoothing and sealing the hair fiber for a glassy shine; to do that, it cleverly pairs 1% glycolic acid with Tuscan camellia macerated oil. The glycolic acid gently seals the hair fibers, visibly decreasing porosity and boosting shine, while the camellia oil delivers deeper, nourishing antioxidant benefits that last. Rosemary water adds a visible shine boost along with revitalizing and soothing properties, and panthenol enhances brilliance further.

There’s a very cool supporting cast, too: botanical keratin (made via enzymatic bioliquefaction of hemp and rice) adds bounce and strength, while a blend of plant-based amino acids—wheat and soy aminos, arginine, serine, and threonine—works as a vegan alternative to animal keratin. And fermented rice water, a postbiotic-rich active from hyper-fermented rice, helps hair hold onto hydration. The result is hair that’s visibly silkier, more radiant, and lighter-feeling: it’s never weighed down by this treatment, despite how much is going on in the formula.
