Vintner’s Daughter Active Renewal Cleanser is the perfect addition to the culty Vintner’s Daughter lineup — and everything about the product is, as one might say, “very Vintner’s.”

First of all, there’s its simplicity: its rich-milk, lightly foaming texture combines the two steps of a double cleanse into one product. This may sound impossible, but it really does deeply clean your skin in the way an oil cleanse would — breaking down makeup, sunscreen, blackheads, and dirt that could otherwise be difficult to remove — and then rinsing off in a perfectly clean way, without those telltale “you missed something” marks that can sometimes be found on snow-white towels. (During all of our testing of this product, we saw zero marks. None.)

Secondly, there’s the versatility and range that the other Vintner’s Daughter stars share. After cleansing with the Active Renewal cleanser, all skin types feel balanced: never still-oily, never dying-for-moisturizer-ASAP. This is an incredibly difficult thing to accomplish, and it’s one of the things that impressed us most with this product.

Finally, there’s the “whole plant” approach taken to its formula, which features the famed Phyto Radiance Infusion you’ll find in the Active Treatment Essence and Active Botanical Serum. This allows the formula to make the most of botanicals like vitamin A-loaded alfalfa, mineral-rich nettle and detoxifying dandelion for skin that feels deeply cleansed, yet balanced and replenished.

Actually, that’s not the final thing that is very Vintner’s. The final thing, really, is that while skeptics might wonder if all the hype around this cleanser is warranted, we’re here to tell you that it delivers.
