EVOLVh The Standard Hair Oil is so named because, as creator Boris Oak puts it, “It sets a new performance standard for hair oils.” Unlike most hair oils whose primary ingredient isn’t an oil, EVOLVh prides itself on that fact that theirs is one they sourced themselves: bataua fruit oil, pressed from deep purple-colored berries that are sustainably harvested from abundant trees in the Amazon. 

Boris sent Dara a sample of the pure oil years ago when he first found it and thought, “This has to go on hair!” Dara agreed — it’s lightweight, fast-absorbing, and non-greasy — and had been waiting for Boris to make a hair oil ever since.

The Standard was worth the wait. In it, EVOLVh blends bataua fruit oil with ingredients like reparative Ceramide NG and castor oil esters to provide all the benefits that make hair oil so helpful: it moisturizes, helps repair damage, dramatically reduces frizz, protects against UV and heat damage (up to 450°F!), keeps color-treated hair from fading, and delivers incredible shine. 

And it really is suitable for all hair types; we’ve seen photographic evidence on hair that we would ordinarily advise to stay far, far away from oils of any kind. The fragrance — a hint of rosey vanilla — is beautiful, too. And, like all the hair oils on our shelves, it’s silicone free.
