Organic sea buckthorn leaf tea / 40g

The environmentally minded family behind MyHavtorn finds a use for every part of the sea buckthorn tree: they pick the leaves, too, which would have otherwise fallen off the tree before the long Swedish winter. It’s a practice that’s not only good for the planet, but also good for us, because those leaves make a delicately delicious tea that is positively packed with nutrients.

For starters, sea buckthorn leaf tea is massively anti-inflammatory — it's even used to treat arthritis. It’s known to provide immune system support as well. And it’s filled with antioxidants (providing levels similar to those of green tea) and lofty amounts of minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and zinc, making it an excellent daily health booster, no matter what ails you.

The icing on the cake, though, is that it’s known to be a mood lifter. Just thinking about how much good each tasty cup of this tea is doing for our bodies certainly lifts our spirits, so that’s why we call it Happy Tea.

With any power botanical, the devil is in the details: it’s only as good as the quality of the plant that it comes from, and it’s only as pure as its production process. As it happens, the Johansson family, which has owned the MyHavtorn farm in Sweden’s Bollebygd Valley for centuries, grows what we think are some of the highest quality sea buckthorn trees in the world. And they put an extraordinary level of care into the production of this tea, because they do everything themselves: three generations of their family work together to hand pick these leaves, wash them gently in fresh water from the mineral spring on their property, and carefully dry them in the fresh, pure Swedish country air.
