TWELVE Beauty Dara's Water: How Pedro uses it

Dara’s Water from TWELVE Beauty is my favorite cleanser of all time, and it’s a non-negotiable in my evening skincare routine. (By the way, in case you hadn’t heard this already: if you’re sleeping in your sunscreen or makeup, I have thoughts.)

Until not too long ago, I thought that everyone used it exactly the same way I do: I put some on a cotton pad or muslin cloth, swipe it over my face, and rinse. But — shock, awe — Pedro revealed recently that he does things a little differently. So, below, he shares his perspective on this magical cleanser, too, and the slightly different way in which he uses it.

Dara: I learned (mind blown) in our last Instagram Live that you and I use Dara's Water differently! Can you tell us again what you do?

PEDRO: I use it religiously every morning. The dropper cap makes the application easy: I pour a few drops on my hands, then I start massaging my face. It is such a special moment for me, from the aroma to the gliding sensation on my skin. It is a bonus that I know exactly what it contains, and this knowledge makes me enjoy the experience more.

I always rinse it with water using my hands, but sometimes I wet my muslin cloth for that process, too.

And I do use it in the evening, too. I am a big SPF user all year round, so the first cleanse in the evening is with Dara’s Water — followed by a more oily cleanser like the Clementine Cleansing Balm, which I leave on for few minutes as a hydrating mask before removing it.

Dara: Since its launch, have you found that there are certain types of skin or certain situations that it suits in particular?

PEDRO: I tend to distrust products deemed “suitable for all skin types,” but Dara’s Water is one of the few I recommend to everyone. The feedback for this product has been great from virtually all individuals, from teenagers to women in their 50´s and 60´s with more of a dry skin profile. We have seen great results with acne sufferers as well as the most sensitive souls in our community.

Dara: What has surprised you the most about it?

PEDRO: How quickly it has become a staple in people’s skincare routines. I include myself here: we all like experiencing new products and recommendations. But Dara’s Water is always in the cart, like a good old classic that you keep going back to it because it’s so easy — and it really works.

Like everything Pedro makes, it really does work, in a way that sort of sneaks up on you: it feels so mild that you think, “I don’t know…is it really doing anything?” But, as you may already know if you’re a TWELVE fan, this is a brand that should never be underestimated.
