It’s MyHavtorn harvest time!

One of our favorite times of year is the sea buckthorn harvest in Bollebygd, Sweden, when multiple generations of the Johansson-Bäckström family gather on their farm to harvest the sweet-tart, EFA-rich berries they use in their famously soothing, nourishing MyHavtorn skincare products.

Find out what cofounders Robin and Ingrid, two of our favorite people, had to say about this year’s harvest below. (That's one of their sons helping out — it's truly a family affair!)

Greetings from Bollebygd and MyHavtorn Farm!

This year has brought both new beginnings and ongoing exploration for us. Last autumn, our family grew with the arrival of our third son Noah, a joyful reminder of the cycles of life that shape everything we do here on the farm.

The work with our Sea Buckthorn oil continues to inspire us in new ways. Over the past year, we have spent much of our time exploring how this golden oil can take shape in different product formats – from deeply nourishing serums and balms to new blends that combine Sea Buckthorn with other carefully selected natural ingredients.

Developing products in small batches gives us the freedom to experiment and refine until everything feels just right. On our shelves, there are always prototypes, some that stay as family favorites and others that eventually find their way out into the world. What excites us most right now is how Sea Buckthorn oil, with its unique balance of omega fatty acids, carotenoids, and antioxidants, can be paired with ingredients like plant-based hyaluronic acid or biofermented extracts to create products that go beyond the ordinary.

In many ways, this stage of our work feels like a continuation of the harvest itself, a transformation of the berries’ vitality into something that can nurture the skin and body throughout the year. As the Swedish autumn deepens and we move towards winter, our thoughts are on the future, how to keep honoring the land that sustains us, while also finding new expressions for what Sea Buckthorn can be. For us, this balance – between heritage and innovation – is at the very heart of MyHavtorn.
