Introducing our rosacea toolkit

We get a lot of questions about rosacea — and since we have so many helpful blog posts on the topic, and so many excellent products to help quell this skin condition, we thought we'd collect it all for you in one place.

First, a bit of info
If you're wondering if what you see on your skin is rosacea, there's a good reason for that wonder: rosacea symptoms can vary quite a bit from person to person. Typically, you’ll notice redness across the cheeks, nose, and forehead; irritation; inflamed bumps; and, over time, more persistent redness, broken blood vessels, and even some redness in the eyes. Sometimes it shows up seasonally; sometimes it’s triggered by specific types of food or drink; sometimes it shows up postpartum. Particularly common, and vexing, is what we think of as “mid-life rosacea,” which crashes the party that is your life along with family/work/health stressors and hormonal changes. (Whee!)

Finally, some of our favorite products
You’ll find our rosacea toolkit here — a collection of all of our favorite remedies for rosacea. You’ll notice that our toolkit doesn’t include a lot of heavy creams and balms, which can sometimes feel soothing at first but could in fact trigger rosacea-related breakouts. Instead, we suggest reaching for calming cleansers that won’t dry out skin; super-hydrating mists and serums; and lighter, gentler moisturizers. (The one exception we make is MyHavtorn’s Facial Oil, since sea buckthorn often works a special kind of magic on rosacea.)
